I had a bad fall in March of last year and in consequence had quite a lot of pain and impaired movement in my right shoulder. Physiotherapy and ultra sound were no help and a couple of cortisone injections gave almost total relief but wore off after several weeks. I went to see Mr. Gupta who sent me for an MRI scan at Prime Health in Weybridge, this showed that I had a fairly severe rupture on the tendon of my rotator cuff. On seeing Mr. Gupta again, he advised that a surgical repair was really the only option and that if I put off the surgery the shoulder would only get worse until a repair would no longer be an option. Having been told of the recovery time needed after surgery and having seen online diaries of several people who had had the surgery, all reporting considerable and extended pain, I was very reluctant to proceed but in the end decided to go ahead with the operation in September of last year. This was performed by Mr. Gupta, a right shoulder arthroscopy plus subacromial decompression plus biceps tenodesis plus large rotator cuff repair, his words, not mine. The operation was performed at The Runnymede Hospital and I stayed in overnight after the operation. Hardly any use of right arm after surgery but no pain, able to use arm after about 12 hours but had to keep it strapped onto a wedge for 4 weeks plus after operation, very frustrating but was pleased and surprised how little pain there was and this controlled with paracetamol only. 6 months on from surgery and after several consultations with Mr. Gupta, range of movement and strength not far short of how it was pre operation and he has signed me off, very pleased with result. Mr. Gupta was always pleasant and professional and result and recovery exactly as his prognosis. Recovery was also aided by Prime Health physio, Alan, who like Mr. Gupta was excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr. Gupta to anyone suffering with a shoulder problem.

I have torn my pectoral major muscle on the gym. Unfortunately muscle separated from the tendon and I have been given very small chance for repair surgery to be successful. This was a devastating news for me as gym was a big part of my life. Mr Gupta empathized with me and agreed to do the surgery with less then 10% chance of success. Mr Gupta went beyond my expectations and managed to reconnect my muscle and a tendon together. Because of the type of injury my recovery took a little bit longer but six mounts after the surgery I am back to full mobility. I can't thank Mr Gupta enough for taking effort to repair my muscle rapture.

I have been a patient of Mr Gupta since approximately 2007 having needed upper limb operations several times which have all been very successful. I have the utmost confidence in his diagnosis and treatment and would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone .

I had shoulder and elbow pain after a couple of bicycle accidents, Mr Gupta was recommended to me by a friend as she had seen him for a shoulder problem. After examining my shoulder which was very stiff and painful with limited movement, I had an MRI of both the shoulder and the elbow. This showed that the elbow was ok but the shoulder had arthritis. Mr Gupta explained everything clearly, telling me the options for treatment, and initially I had an injection. I went on to have an operation and really felt that I was in good hands. It has been two months now and the follow up care has been great.
